Classics Launch New Diecast ‘RepliCars’ Range

Classic Carlectables have launched a new brand – Diecast RepliCars. The first model in the range is a 1:18 2-door XP Falcon.

The company made the announcement in the latest newsletter (#64, April-June 2016), which can be downloaded HERE.

In addition to the XP there are some nice 1:18 race cars in the publication – ’72 Bob Jane Camaro, ’80 Kevin Bartlet Camaro, ’76 Goss/Richards Barthurst XB, ’73 Geoghegan Charger and triple eight Engineering’s 2016 V8 Supercars.

The only 1:43 scale news is the fact that all three Triple 8 cars will be done – the Red Bull cars of Whincup and Gizzy, plus Lowndes’ Caltex version from Clipsal.

“It was our intention to originally produce this model under the Classic Carlectables brand with opening bonnet, doors and boot, however pre-orders were well below expectations and it was necessary for us to re-evaluate the project” Classics’ Managing Director Peter Thompson said.

“To produce the model with full openings based on current market conditions the retail price would be in the region of $399.00. We are hopeful the release of “Diecast Replicars,” this will offer collectors showcase quality models with full exterior and interior detail at an affordable retail price.

“Diecast Replicars is a brand which we will continue to develop and we have plans to release many new tooling models in the future.”

Below are the key features of the first model under the new brand:

– 1/18 scale Diecast

– Fully detailed exterior body

– Fully detailed chassis

– Chassis production number

– Exterior colour Green Velvet

– Interior colour Palomino

– Limited production of 1,000 pcs

– Printed Certificate of Authenticity

– Recommended retail price of $199.00
