Holden Racing Team’s special “Star Wars” Bathurst 2015 liveries have been modeled by Biante.
1:43 scale versions broke cover at Mount Panorama across the weekend of the 1000. In a deal arranged some time prior to the event, the cars featured the liveries created to promote the upcoming Star Wars: The Force Awakens movie.
However, with James Courtney’s injury and Russell Ingall climbing aboard for the weekend, the #22 is inaccurate for the race. So, Biante Marketing Department is calling these Bathurst “Launch” versions. Both will be done in 1:18 (with opening parts) and have the correct names and livery from race day. There has been no word about production of a legit Perkins/Ingall version in 1:43.
The tooling is the first COTF V8 Supercar models Biante have released in this scale and are diecast. Going from the photos above, I reckon they don’t look too bad at all. RRP: $79.95
Biante has also created a “Modern Classics” collection. These will be retro race liveries on current spec tooling. Not my cup of tea, but will be interesting if these take off or not.
