Twenty Lost Models

Well, they weren’t really lost as such. But now they’re home.

I’ve built many of the Tamiya 1:20 scale Grand Prix series kits over the years, and these first 20 builds have been sitting in a cabinet in my old bedroom at the folks’ place for between 20 and 35 years. Can’t believe it’s been that long!

Some have aged quite well, some not so much.

Please note, most of these do not represent the quality of work I now turn out.

A more detailed view and analysis of each will be covered in a future post where I’ll show each model nude (ie, bodywork removed).

The sidepod decals on the Brabham are screwed. The other side is just as bad.
Rear tyres have a powdery white residue. White parts of the decals have yellowed. Back in the days when tobacco decals came with the kit.

Front tyres have split.
