A list of 50 models in IXO’s The Australian Cars Collection has surfaced.
It looks like the image has been taken from the IXO website and the vehicles are not all Australian. We must also question the accuracy of this list as Issue 3 was most certainly not an XW or XY Falcon! (It was an XC Cobra.)
Sadly, it looks like there are no race cars 🙁

Just read the list for the Australian Car Models Collection . i agree with you it looks like they have got the 2 Ford models mix-up . As the 1978 Ford XC Falcon Coupe was no.3 & the 1970 Ford XW / XY Falcon GT Sedan was no.5 , ( makes you wonder how they the people who are putting these models out there miss that “little detail ” ) . also i notice that according to ” there list ” model no. 40 is the 1970 American Dodge Challenger ( whilist i know some were sold / have been brought into this country i fail too see how they can say that its a Australian Car & should have its own model ) . Also today the 13/12/ 2024 finally got my 1964 Holden EH Special Sedan ( model no. 4 , been waiting months for it to come ) . as well as model no.14 the 1970 HG GTS 350 Monaro Coupe . know if i can only get the following missing models for my collection , ( preferablly at same price as they are at my local newsagency & not the ” over – priced / rip – off murchan’s price , i’d by very great full { as i’m on a disability pension you see , hence my comment ) . the model i need are as follows : the 1975 Holden HJ Sandman Panel van ( model no. 7 , the 1972 Ford XA GTHO Phase IV Falcon Sedan ( model no . 8 ) , the 1977 Holden Torana A9X ( Model no . 12 ) & Finally the 1967 Chrysler VC Valiant (model no. 13 ) then i would have the complete / current collection. if any one can help on that last matter i’d be forever greatfull to them . final comment instead of getting these models from Bangeldesh , like they have done they just should have done what most other model makers & got them done in China in the 1st place & then there wouldn’t be any hassle’s / problems wating for models to turn up , it that simple !
Kingswoods of all models and Statesman are conspicuously absent. Apparently a ZB Fairlane is being offered. There are some odd models in this collection that can hardly be considered ‘Australian’.
#11 : Toyota’s Land Cruiser variants have been very popular in Oz, but none were ever assembled here.
#21 : Datsun 1600 sedans and wagons were initially fully imported from Japan and later manufactured locally from 1969 to 1972.
#33 : Ford’s Mustang Fastback was not officially sold here, but Ford Australia did import and convert some Hardtop coupes in 1965-66.
#34 : Mazda RX-7 coupes were manufactured in Japan.
#38 : Range Rover … not well known, but from 1979 to 1983, JRA assembled Range Rovers locally in Australia.
#40 : Dodge Challenger … in 1970, Chrysler Australia was still assembling Dodge Phoenix sedans, but never any Dodge Challenger coupes.
#42 : another import Land Cruiser.
#48 : and yet another import Land Cruiser.
Would love the Kingswood, Mitsubishi Magna, Ford Cortina, Datsun 200B was also a good car …. Maybe them and other’s to look at doing include early models Toyota corolla, Nissan Skyline… One or two or five cars from the 90s as well as 1900-1950, the biggest sellers ….. Overall thou it’s a great collection, well presented, well done

good luck with that, the scalpers are way ahead of us on price……
At the end of the day, 50 will be enough. It’s a good collection, not all are race cars as one comment suggested. 50 will pull me up.
I’m curious of anything beyond the initial 50 are being planned.
Bet London to a Brick that after the 50 there will be another 40.
Well, yes … apparently, 90 items are now overall proposed for this collection :

Sad that their is not one car from the 2000 up would era No V series or RX8 or FG’s
Just an update from my previous emails i was finally able to obtain the “Missing Model No. 12 ( 1977 Holden A9X Torana Hatchback Model ) ” . only after countless emails back & forth between myself & IXO Models , in the U.K. , over the past few months . as such i finally got a compilmentary version from there Australian Distribitor’s over a week also ago . in short if anyone is having the same type of hassles that might be there best bet of obtaining any model ( s ) , that they are missing .
With issue #33 soon to arrive in September 2025, being the “Holden Torana SL/R 5000 (1977)” sedan, I’m also looking forward and ahead to issue #43, which has been described as a “Holden Brabham Torana SL (1968)” sedan.
The visual depiction of issue #33 shows that this model car is actually going to be an Option A9X version of the LX Torana SL/R 5000 sedan.
As for the future, I’m hoping that iXO will replicate the Series II version of the Brabham Torana which was released for public sale by Holden in September 1968 … this being a stand alone model no longer attached as an ‘S’ or ‘SL’ option package … it followed on from Holden’s release of the HK Monaro GTS coupe range in July 1968, with the new version of the Brabham Torana sharing the same four paint colours as could be ordered with the Monaro GTS … this, I guess, was a ploy to cement these two cars as Holden’s definitive sporting car machines.
Warwick Yellow
Picardy Red

I am actually having 68 cars in my Australian car collection the thought of having mostly Holden’s and fords is a bit boring my collection will have cars imported to australia examples 68 corvette, morris major, bmw 3 series toyota corolla, toyota celica, cortina gt 500,lancer evo 1,vw combi, ford zephyr, porsche 911,82 skyline, Peugeot 403 the list goes on too many to mention here all cars that made a impact on Australian motoring
It would have been good to see that this collection would have stuck to its title (the AUSTRALIAN classic car collection). There is a lot of varients of australian cars from the 60s,70s,80s,you could even have toyotas (made in australia) instead of having to put up with the british, american rubbish.
Just received issue No36 1964 Mini Moke, a bit disappointed, the green colour is not very appealing and hard to see any detail also the black roof and side curtains don’t give the Moke it’s iconic shape, should have left the side curtains off as in the pictures.
Agree. The Vitesse version released a couple of decades ago was better. It’s a shame they didn’t make it a Moke Californian, that had more of an Aussie connection than this drab offering.
