Replicarz has reported that the Mattel/Ferrari deal will officially end on 31 December 2014.
Initially, I cheered at this news!
The Ferrari Formula One models that Mattel have churned out in the past 15 years have been pretty scrappy when compared to what Minichamps and Spark can do.
The cash that Ferrari raked in from the licensing must have been significant. Why else would the famous Italian company allow it’s brand to be presented on such rubbish for so long?
However, as pointed out in the Replicarz blog, what’s next for Ferrari collectables?
Would (or even, could?) Minichamps or Spark step up and pay the hefty price to produce Ferrari models?
