Classic Carlectables will not make the Prodrive Racing Australia (formerly Ford Performance Racing) models of the 2015 factory Fords in the V8 Supercars series.
Apex Replicas has signed a multi-year deal with the team to be their exclusive supplier of model cars to produce both Pepsi Max Crew cars (Mark Winterbottom and Chaz Mostert) and The Bottle-O Racing car driven by David Reynolds.
“Securing the leading Ford cars of the Pepsi Max Crew is a big step for us here at Apex and is the result of a lot of hard work from us and everyone at PRA” Apex said in a statement.
“The change is quite significant as it is the first change of model supplier for PRA/FPR since their inception.”
Apex indicate the Bottle-O Racing car will begin the year as an FG and, due to sponsor requirements, the model will be produced as an FG based on how it runs at Clipsal. The Pepsi Max Crew cars will be FG-Xs and also be produced in Clipsal livery.
“The late homologation of the FG-X Falcon means we expect to begin development of the model in the next two weeks, with first deco samples in August/September and delivery in October/November.
“All models will be produced as per our current V8 Supercar range in diecast for the 1:18 and resin for the 1:43.”
