Salvinos JR Models has confirmed it will produce Shane van Gisbergen’s Chicago race winning Camaro.
It will be on their 1:24 plastic kit of the Camaro ZL1 and is expected to hit the US market in September.
SVG’s win was a NASCAR milestone; the first time the category has held a street race, and the first time in 60 years since a driver won their first NASCAR Cup Series start (previously it was Johnny Rutherford who won a race at Daytona in 1963 driving for Smokey Yunick).
Salvinos will rush the Gizzy model through “as quick as we can get the decals made”. Despite the Cartograph factory closing in Italy for their annual break, Salvinos hope to have them in 60 days.
The SVG winner will also be available in diecast. So far, Elite has announced a 1:24 scale version and Action will do both 1:24 and 1:64.
