In time, I’d like all the models in my collection that are supposed to have tobacco markings, actually have them.
It will be a big job to organise, purchase and apply aftermarket decoration to them all, but at least a start has been made.
Above & Below: Before and after application of after market tobacco decoration to a brace of Biante 1/43 models – 1984 Bathurst VK Commodores, 1995 Skaife/Richards VR and 1976 John Harvey LH Torana.
I purchased three water-slide decal sets from three different eBay sellers to evaluate the quality of their decals. Curiously, two of these were delivered from the same address…
Instructions for these two (the Winfield VR and Marlboro Torana) stipulated the decals required clear-coating before use, while the third lot (for the VK twin set) were already coated.

Quality in all cases was not too bad, though not to the level of the Spark decals mentioned in a previous post. The black Marlboro markings for the twin set were nice and glossy, but the white versions for on the rear spoiler were a bit translucent, particularly in comparison to the white Winfield decals on the VR.
Above & Below: In addition to the naughty cigarette logos, Biante’s Skaife/Richards VR Commodore got my ‘push the wheels out’ trick to enhance its look and stance.
