Nissan Skyline GTR, Bathurst 1992

This is the 1992 Bathurst winner sold by Biante. The model is in 1:43 scale and was produced without Winfield cigarette decoration.

Interesting Note – this is the “You’re a pack of Arse Holes” Richards/Skaife winner that actually ended the race planted in the concrete.

This model is essential for any Bathurst Winners collection, and while it looks great in the display cabinet, closer inspection reveals a few problems, starting with the flares ahead of the rear wheels which appear too fat.

The wheels are also not correct. At Bathurst this car was fitted with large single-lug wheel nuts, not the 5-nut arrangement shown here.

Applying aftermarket Winfield decals makes this a much better and more accurate looking model. Decals were added to each side, the bonnet and rear face of the boot lid.

The bonnet decal was the largest of the lot. All decals were plain white on transparent water-slide film. The white print was not as crisp as I would have liked, however you need to get pretty close to see the ink bleed.

Summary: A nice model of another Bathurst winner.
