A member over on the Biante Forum was looking for a list of the models that Dinkum Classics had produced. Many years ago, such a list was sent to me…
There has been a change of management at Top Gear. Company founder Frank Tregallas has stepped aside to allow Bob and Sue Rusconi take over the day to day running of the business. This statement from Top Gear arrived today:
Top Gear is now taking orders for the next model in the Select Series. There will be two colour variations of the 1960 Chrysler royal AP3 V8 sedan. The series’ previous releases have proven quite popular, but with a hefty $149 per model price tag, will this continue?
A custom HJ Holden Tow Truck would be the highlight in the latest Top Gear (Trax, Trux etc) catalog. Like most of their latest offerings, the black HJ is resin. In diecast, there’s a new FC Wagon (2 versions) and re-colour of the EJ Holden Van, this time in Rosella Jams & Sauces decoration. Click the images below for a larger version:
Peter Brock’s 1991 Bathurst ride, the VN Group A SS Commodore, is coming from Biante in 1:43 scale. The Mobil sponsored car he shared with Andrew Miedecke in the Great Race is due for release in quarter 1, 2015. There will also be a ‘Durif Red’ road going VN SS Group A released at the same time. Both VNs have a RRP of $77. Other updates from Biante are below, including the 4-door A9X Brock drove on just the one occasion, at Sandown in 1978.
Oh yeah, this is gonna be popular… Apex Replicas has revealed photos of the 1:18 prototype for the 1998 Bathurst winning EL Falcon of Jason Bright & Steven Richards.
Lots of new 1:18 models are included in the latest Classic Carlectables newsletter (No. 58, Oct-Nov 2014), but very little in the way of 1:43 or race cars. In fact, the only 1:43 mentioned is a Jamie Whincup “2013 Championship Winner” edition of the Red Bull VF Commodore. This car has already been modeled, released as a standard issue season version earlier this year. Download the 8-page PDF HERE
